Package Itinerary

Day 1 — Srinagar - Local Sightseeing
Arrival & Local Srinagar SightseeingMorning:Airport Pickup: Arrival at Srinagar Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport. Met by your driver/representative for assistance and transferred to your hotel or houseboat in Srinagar.Check-In & Refresh: Settle into your room, unpack, and enjoy a traditional hot cup of Kashmiri Kahwa (saffron tea) to unwind. Afternoon:Shankaracharya Temple: Drive up Gopadri Hill to visit the ancient Shiva temple. Climb the ~240 stone steps to enjoy sweeping 360-degree views of Srinagar city, the Jhelum River, and Dal Lake. (Note: Electronics and mobile phones are strictly prohibited past the security checkpoint). Mughal Gardens Tour:Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure): Walk the 12 terraced levels cascading toward Dal Lake with the Zabarwan mountain range as the backdrop. Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love): Explore the largest Mughal garden in Kashmir, built by Emperor Jahangir for Empress Noor Jahan, featuring water channels, stone pavilions, and grand Chinar trees. (Optional add-on if time permits): Chashme Shahi to see the natural cold-water spring. Evening:Sunset Shikara Ride: Experience a 1 to 1.5-hour private Shikara boat ride on the peaceful waters of Dal Lake during golden hour. Glide past floating markets, lotus gardens, and Char Chinar island. Night:Dinner & Overnight Stay: Head back to your hotel or houseboat for an authentic Kashmiri dinner (try local specialties like Rogan Josh or Dum Aloo) and a restful overnight stay in Srinagar.
Day 2 — Srinagar - Pahalgam - Srinagar
Excursion to Pahalgam & Return to Srinagar
Morning:

Breakfast: Enjoy breakfast at your Srinagar hotel/houseboat before setting off.

Scenic Drive to Pahalgam: Depart for Pahalgam (approx. 2.5 to 3 hours drive, ~90 km).

Pampore Saffron Fields: Stop along the way to see the famous saffron fields (blooming in autumn) and shop for authentic Kashmiri saffron, dry fruits, and spices.

Avantipur Ruins & Apple Orchards: Pass by the 9th-century Avantiswami Temple ruins and lush apple orchards along the banks of the Lidder River.

Afternoon:

Arrival in Pahalgam: Reach Pahalgam ("Valley of Shepherds"), where the Lidder River flows through pine forests and mountain valleys.

Local Valley Exploration (via Union Cab):

Betaab Valley: Named after the Bollywood film Betaab, this lush valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains and green meadows is perfect for walks and photography.

Chandanwari: The starting point of the holy Amarnath Yatra, famous for its dramatic river valley and snow bridges (during early summer/spring).

Aru Valley: A tranquil village surrounded by alpine meadows and dense forests, ideal for nature walks and optional horse riding.

(Note: Local taxi union rules require taking a local Pahalgam cab to visit Betaab Valley, Aru, and Chandanwari).

Evening:

Return Drive: Drive back to Srinagar in the late afternoon/early evening as sunset approaches.

Night:

Dinner & Overnight Stay: Relax, enjoy a warm Kashmiri dinner, and stay overnight at your hotel in Srinagar.
Day 3 — Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar
Excursion to Gulmarg & Return to Srinagar
Morning:

Breakfast: Enjoy a warm breakfast at your hotel in Srinagar before starting your journey.

Scenic Drive to Gulmarg: Depart for Gulmarg (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours drive, ~50 km).

Tangmarg Halt: Drive through winding roads flanked by dense pine, fir, and snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Stop at Tangmarg to grab tea or hire snow boots/heavy coats if visiting during winter/early spring.

Afternoon:

Gulmarg Cable Car (Gondola Ride): Head straight to the Gulmarg Gondola station—one of the highest cable car systems in the world.

Phase 1 (Kungdoor): Takes you from Gulmarg base (2,600m) through alpine pine forests to Kungdoor Station (3,050m). Perfect for snow activities, hot snacks, and mountain views.

Phase 2 (Apharwat Peak): Ascends to Apharwat Peak (3,950m / nearly 14,000 ft), offering dramatic, panoramic views of the Himalayas near the Line of Control.

Leisure & Meadows: Walk through the famous Meadow of Flowers, explore the historic St. Mary’s Church (built in 1902), visit the Maharani Temple perched on a hilltop, or view the scenic Gulmarg Golf Course (one of the world's highest 18-hole courses).

Evening:

Return Drive: Head back down toward Srinagar in the late afternoon.

Night:

Dinner & Overnight Stay: Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at your hotel or houseboat in Srinagar.
Day 4 — Srinagar - Airport
Departure from Srinagar
Morning:

Breakfast: Enjoy a final breakfast at your Srinagar hotel or houseboat.

Check-Out & Packing: Pack your bags, complete check-out formalities, and ensure you have all personal belongings, documents, and purchases (like saffron or dry fruits).

Transfer & Airport Departure:

Drive to Airport: Depart for Srinagar Sheikh Ul Alam International Airport (approx. 30 to 45 minutes drive from central Srinagar/Dal Lake, depending on traffic).

Security Checkpoints: Arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to your domestic flight departure.

(Note: Srinagar Airport has strict multi-tier security checks, including a mandatory vehicle and luggage security check at the outer drop-off gate before entering the main terminal building).

Board Flight: Complete check-in and security screening, and board your flight for your onward journey home with wonderful memories of Kashmir.
